CARE & MATERIALS

MATERIALS

Suncatchers

Made with glass and lead-free solder consisting of silver, tin, and copper. The hanging chain is metal and may develop mild rust over time, especially in humid environments.

Stained Glass Jewelry

Crafted with lead-free solder (silver, tin, and copper). Ear wires are oxidized sterling silver. The glass is 2mm thick, making it lighter than traditional stained glass.

Please note: Bubbles, lines, and other slight variations occur naturally during the glassmaking process and are not considered defects. Glass jewels and beveled glass may also have lines or surface scratches. Over time, metals and finishes may oxidize naturally. Handle all pieces with care — glass is fragile.

Each item is an original design by Etta Kostick Designs and may not be replicated.

CARE

Suncatchers

To clean the glass, use a non-ammonia household glass cleaner and wipe gently with a soft cloth. Avoid cleaning the metalwork. Do not use abrasive materials like steel wool, as they can scratch or damage the finish.

Suncatchers are for indoor use only. Exposure to moisture may cause damage to the finish.

Stained Glass Earrings

To clean, gently wipe the metal with a soft cloth. For the glass, use a non-ammonia glass cleaner and a soft cloth to avoid scratching. Avoid abrasive materials and exposure to liquid.

HANGING YOUR SUNCATCHER:

For best results, hang your suncatcher from a small hook or nail secured into wood, such as a window frame or ceiling beam. This ensures a strong and stable hold. Avoid suction cups, as they tend to loosen over time and are not reliable for long-term use — especially with heavier pieces.

Here are some hooks I personally recommend for both small and larger suncatchers:
